ABOUT PET EFFECTION
Pet Effection was created to celebrate the extraordinary relationship between people and companion animals.
Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years I’ve shared my home with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, rats, snakes, and many other companions. Every one of them has left a lasting impression on me, teaching lessons about trust, patience, responsibility, loyalty, and unconditional love.
When I was younger, I seriously considered becoming a veterinarian. Although life ultimately led me in a different direction, my love for animals never faded. A career in technology eventually gave me an unexpected opportunity—not to care for animals through veterinary medicine, but to create a place where I could share what they’ve taught me and encourage others to deepen the relationships they have with the companions in their own lives.
Pet Effection isn’t simply about pets.
It’s about the remarkable ways animals enrich our lives—and the responsibility we share to care for theirs.
The name reflects that purpose. It isn’t based solely on affection, but on the effect companion animals have on us every day. They comfort us, challenge us, make us laugh, help us heal, and quietly become part of our families. In return, we have the privilege of understanding them better, caring for them well, and supporting the people and organizations dedicated to improving their lives.
Through thoughtful articles, inspiring stories, health and wellness information, behavior and training guidance, honest reviews, and Featured Resources, Pet Effection aims to be more than a source of information. My goal is to create a publication where readers discover new ideas, strengthen the bond they share with their companions, and learn about people and organizations making a meaningful difference.
Whether you’re here to better understand your own companion, discover a new resource, or simply enjoy reading about the remarkable connection between people and animals, I’m grateful you’re here.
Everything published on Pet Effection is guided by three simple questions:
What do animals do for us?
What can we do for them?
How can we help?
If even one reader leaves with a deeper appreciation for their companion, chooses to support an organization doing important work, or simply sees the relationship between people and animals in a new way, then Pet Effection has accomplished exactly what it was created to do.
Thank you for visiting Pet Effection.
Our Promise
We’ll always recommend organizations because we believe in them, not because they advertise with us.
We’ll always strive to educate before we persuade.
And we’ll always remember that behind every article is a relationship between a person and an animal that matters.
